“Mega Tourism Caravan 4” in Ukraine
Caravan Logo- Ukraine In continuation of “Mega Tourism Caravan ” held in August  2013 in the Republic of Belarus,  ‘Tourism Promotional Campaign’ in CIS countries, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation with the collaboration of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau launched the fourth phase of the promotion campaign in the Ukraine from 1 to 14 October 2013.
This time the campaign commenced from the city of Kharkov of the Ukraine and took its journey through four other major cities of the Ukraine, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and Kiev covering a distance of almost 2000 kilometers on wheels continuing the saga of “Mega Tourism Caravan”

“Mega Tourism Caravan 3” in Belarus
Logo 1280x1024 The “Mega Tourism Caravan” commenced its second phase on 22 August in the capital city of Belarus, Minsk. This enormous task of organizing weeks long tourism campaigns firstly in four major cities of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan and subsequently in four major cities in Russia for the second time and also in Belarus  would not have been a reality,
 if not for the resolute and untiring efforts of His Excellency Udayanga Weeratunga, the Ambassador of Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation.  His vast experience and hard earned knowledge on the tourism industry were the main attributes, which paved the way to successfully organize both “Mega Tourism Road Show” and “Mega Tourism Caravan”.

“Mega Tourism Caravan 2” in Russia
Logo In continuation of “Mega Tourism Road Show” held in March – April 2013,  ‘Tourism Promotional Campaign’ in CIS countries, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation with the collaboration of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau launched the second phase of the promotion campaign in the Russian Federation from 3 to 17 July 2013.
This time the campaign commenced from the capital of Russia, Moscow, and took its journey through four other major cities of the Russian Federation: Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Ufa and Yekaterinburg covering a distance of almost 4000 kilo meters on wheels. Hence, the campaign is aptly named “Mega Tourism Caravan”.

01 - p 2 - why sri lanka This year, with the objective of furthering the propagation of the tourism industry, the Embassy in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has organized a three week Tourism Promotional Campaign, the “Mega Tourism Road Show” in the Russian Federation and Ukraine covering Moscow, St Petersburg and Kiev.
The road show will commence on 17 March 2013 with the activation of the shopping mall “Mega Dybenko” in St Petersburg followed by three week long Mega Road Show in Moscow and Kiev. Major events conducted during the campaign are Shopping Mall Activation, Workshops on Sri Lankan Tourism, Cultural Shows, Photo Exhibitions, Press Conferences and participation of world renowned Travel and Trade Fairs; MITT – 2013 in Moscow , UITT – 2013 in Kiev and Ukrainian Travel Forum – 2013.
