H.E the President and Economic Development Minister Appreciates the Tourism Catalogue
The catalogue of Tourism in Sri Lanka published by the Sri Lanka Embassy in Moscow, Russia was presented to His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa by the Ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga Monday at the Temple Trees. The President expressed his appreciation for the endeavor taken by the Ambassador for promoting tourism in Russia and CIS countries which has increased in many folds during the last few years. He also mentioned that this catalogue is an example to be initiated by other Sri Lankan Foreign Missions to promote tourism.

“SRI LANKA EXPO 2012″ 28-30 March 2012


After a lapse of 15 years, Sri Lanka Expo 2012 will be held from 28th to 30th of March, 2012 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Sri Lanka`s premier exhibition and conference centre. Sri Lanka Export Development Board organizes this national event with the support of public and private sector institutions.

New Visa Formalities
Foreign nationals, who intend to visit Sri Lanka for Short Stay, must obtain Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), prior to their arrival with effect from 01.01.2012. The ETA is issued through on-line system. No passport copies, documents or photograph are required. There is no requirement to endorse the ETA in the passport.
  • ETA processing fee will not be charged till the 01st of January 2012.
  • No ETA processing fee will be charged from tourists who spend less that 48 hours in the country.
