basi newThe Joint Plan for Assistance (JPA) for Northern Province 2012 was launched on Tuesday (21) at the Ministry of Economic Development, by the Government together with the United Nations and the broader humanitarian community in the presence of Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development. The JPA identifies priority activities and strategies which have been developed in support of the overall national programme to assist the people of the Northern Province to recover further and to sustain their livelihoods in coming years.
New Visa Formalities
Foreign nationals, who intend to visit Sri Lanka for Short Stay, must obtain Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), prior to their arrival with effect from 01.01.2012. The ETA is issued through on-line system. No passport copies, documents or photograph are required. There is no requirement to endorse the ETA in the passport.
  • ETA processing fee will not be charged till the 01st of January 2012.
  • No ETA processing fee will be charged from tourists who spend less that 48 hours in the country.
