One of workshops was held by a diversified touroperator Spectrum for its agencies chain on 05th of November. More than 45 agents participated there. The events took place in a nice restaurant “Fokachcha” not far from the Pushkin square. Lavrov, arrived Sri Lanka on October 26 for a one-day visit, which led to the renewal of the 51 years long diplomatic and friendly relationship between both countries – Lanka and Russian. The Russian Foreign Minister pledged that the Russian Federation will be always on the side of Sri Lanka, if in case the international community initiate any covetous move to charge Sri Lanka on any war related crimes. |

The second round of bilateral negotiations was held in Moscow from 16 – 18 September 2009 between the Delegations of Sri Lanka and the Russian Federation in order to conclude a bilateral treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the two countries. At the end of the three day negotiations, the two sides initialed an Agreed text of a mutual legal assistance Treaty in criminal matters. |

Moscow International Tourism and Travel (MITT) Fair is an annual event for the Russian travel market, which was held 18th-21st March 2009 in Moscow. This year 17 Sri Lankan companies with the Sri Lankan Convention Bureau participated in this event. The Sri Lankan pavilion was constructed in traditional Sri Lankan style highlighting the famous Kandy Perahera pageant on the outer walls and the middle part was decorated with colorful images of the most famous Sri Lankan sceneries. |
