Unmarried Certificates
List of Required Documents for issuance of Unmarried Status Certificate
- Letter of Request (Word)
- Registration ID issued by the Embassy
- An affidavit countersigned by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Affidavits are valid only for 06 months from the date of issue)
- If the spouse/partner is also a Sri Lankan citizen, both parties should submit their affidavits
- Applicant’s Passport and valid Visa (Originals)
- Copy of passport of the person to be married to
- Duly filed application for Unmarried Status Certificate (Word)
- Divorce Certificate (Original) if the applicant is a divorcee
- Death Certificate (Original) if the applicant’s previous spouse has been expired.
