Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka were established in November 2000.

Trade turnover: more than 13 million USD (that is more than for the whole year 2005)
Export from Belarus: more than 9 million USD
Import to Belarus: about 4 million USD
The main item of the Belarusian export to Sri Lanka is potash fertilizers. The main item of the Belarusian import from Sri Lanka is tea, tyres and tobacco raw materials.
The Republic of Belarus released about 125 thousand USD of humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka in view of disastrous effects of tsunami in 2004.
